Netflix
We were commissioned by Netflix and BBC Studios to contribute to the visually ambitious documentary series Our Universe, narrated by Morgan Freeman. This six-part series tells the epic story of the cosmos, spanning billions of years of evolution, energy, and life.
Our brief focused on crafting a series of intricate liquid visuals, representing key moments in Earth’s natural history. From the very first raindrop to strike the planet, to rainfall cascading through the Savannah, and water droplets skimming across the surface of an elephant’s skin. Each sequence was captured in stunning macro detail using high-speed cinematography and still life techniques.
Blending technical precision with poetic composition, our water cinematography evokes both the beauty and physics of liquid in motion. These scenes sit at the intersection of documentary storytelling and high-end commercial aesthetics, reflecting our expertise in liquids, still life filmmaking, and natural visuals.
